Nothing in this world compares to a summer day spent paddling a canoe alongside your best friend as your fishing line trails through wavy reflections of ponderosa pines. This linocut block print was carved after a perfect day with My Fisherman (husband). We spent the day paddling and laughing our way across Chambers Lake in Colorado’s Roosevelt National Forest. The Cache la Poudre River flows down from Rocky Mountain National Park and through the foothills before it meanders through the city of Fort Collins. In the early 1800’s, the river banks provided a hiding spot for French trappers and their gunpowder during a severe blizzard. Hence the name “cache of powder”.
